This June, the Warsaw Sport Marketing Center hosted its new research conference. Titled "Focus on Sponsorship" and held at the UO White Stag Block in Portland, the two-day event drew forty-six academics and industry experts from Europe, North America, Australia, and Singapore, among other locations. By highlighting a single topic, the event enabled participants to connect with like-minded peers and zero in on key areas of research. "The conference had depth and focus, and that's why I think it was so valuable to people," said the event's organizer and chair, T. Bettina Cornwell, Edwin E. & June Woldt Cone Professor of Marketing. A total of nineteen sessions kept attendees plenty busy. The schedule also included some opportunities for recreation, including a gala group dinner and a shopping trip to the Nike Employee Store in Beaverton. The next conference in the biennial series is scheduled for June 2014. Download the conference program.
